Accelerating and scaling immune cell engineering

Effective application of innovative technology in biological research requires a collaborative and cross-disciplinary mindset.

We are a diverse group of engineers, scientists, and synthetic biologists dedicated to empowering our Discovery and Development organizations through design and deployment of state-of-the-art computational and biological tools.

Scientist, Molecular Biology (2141-N-690-MBIO)

ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer.  Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.

Our people are our greatest asset, they bring scientific talents in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, protein chemistry, computational biology, automation, genome engineering, software and other fields to make the future happen now.

We are seeking a motivated Scientist to join ArsenalBio’s Synthetic Biology team and lead efforts in building synthetic biology DNA constructs and developing new technologies & capabilities as a part of our efforts to develop and commercialize curative immune cell therapies.

What Will You Do:

  • Design and build DNA constructs and libraries encoding synthetic receptors  and gene circuits to enable high-throughput functional screens
  • Provide expert support for molecular biology applications and strategies to the broader scientific team
  • Develop, operationalize, and optimize automation-enabled capabilities to scale DNA construction and characterization.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to establish and test novel adoptive cell therapy approaches
  • Maintain familiarity with the relevant current literature and its application to synthetic biology and genome engineering
  • Coordinate tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning
  • Interpret and effectively execute experiments in line with project timelines and goals
  • Mentor research associates within the group in areas of technical expertise
  • What You Will Bring:

  • PhD in molecular biology or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academia OR Bachelors/Masters in molecular biology or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academia
  • Experience developing and optimizing protocols for nucleic acid cloning, amplification, modification and analysis
  • Experience optimizing and developing protocols for DNA assembly and library constructions for applications such as synthetic biology, functional genomics and/or protein engineering
  • Experience with automation and HTP cloning workflows
  • Working knowledge of vector design for gene expression, genetic reporter systems and genome engineering applications
  • Working knowledge of next-generation sequencing technologies and workflows
  • Entrepreneurial behaviors demonstrated by agility, accountability, transparency, resourcefulness, and ability to get things done
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity, and deliver high-quality results
