Accelerating and scaling immune cell engineering

Effective application of innovative technology in biological research requires a collaborative and cross-disciplinary mindset.

We are a diverse group of engineers, scientists, and synthetic biologists dedicated to empowering our Discovery and Development organizations through design and deployment of state-of-the-art computational and biological tools.

Scientist, High Throughput Assay Development

ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer.  Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.

Our people are our greatest asset, they bring scientific talents in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, protein chemistry, computational biology, automation, genome engineering, software and other fields to make the future happen now.

We are seeking an outstanding Scientist, High Throughput Assay Development to join the High Throughput Assay Development team. The successful candidate is expected to work effectively across the organization to drive the implementation of immunological assays that are robust and scalable.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the Synthetic Biology, Immunology, Clinical and Product Development teams to define, build, and scale-up (1000+ unique constructs) immunological assays such as cell killing, cytokine release, and repetitive stimulation
  • Drive the deployment of assays and engineering solutions for data generation in the context of research and development in the cell therapy space
  • Enable the transition to lab automation for screening workflows on adjacent teams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on company needs
  • What You Will Bring:

  • Ph.D. in immunology, cell biology, chemical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related discipline with 3+ years developing novel assays in the context of advanced lab automation systems
  • Deep knowledge of synthetic biology field as well as working knowledge of optimization of mammalian cell culture for screening applications
  • Experience with lab automation and high throughput screening
  • Expert knowledge of experimental design (DOE methodology) and process engineering tools paired with excellence in execution
  • Passion for process optimization and statistical analysis of biological assays to make data-driven decisions on process improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a multi-team environment, along with a can-do attitude to solving challenging and exciting problems in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience in drug screening, immuno-oncology, biologics, organism engineering or similar applied fields
  • Strong working knowledge of phenotypic screening technologies, assay development, molecular biology, high content screening applications, and NGS
  • Experience in engineering robust processes driven by well-understood metrics and performance monitoring
  • Experience with automating data analytics pipelines, such as Spotfire, BI, Splunk, R, python, AWS and/or Airflow
  • Experience in technology transfer, including process documentation, user training, designing effective IQ/OQ/PQ
  • Experience working with laboratory information management system and electronic lab notebooks
