We are seeking an outstanding scientist to drive next-generation sequencing methods within ArsenalBio. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of NGS and its applications and a proven track record of developing innovative NGS protocols for solving complex biological problems. As a strong technical contributor, this role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance ArsenalBio research.
What You Will Do
Deploy high- and low-throughput NGS library preparation strategies for bulk, single-cell, and multi-omic applicationsCreate NGS libraries from single cells, tissues, and isolated DNA/RNA to further ArsenalBio research and discoveryEstablish novel NGS methods to extract new types of information from research and clinical samplesHelp oversee the operation and maintenance of numerous Illumina instrumentsParticipate in the overall management of NGS operationsAssist in troubleshooting problematic library preps and sequencing issuesContribute to ongoing improvements in storing, tracking, and analyzing NGS dataEvaluate new NGS technologies and platforms (e.g. spatial transcriptomics)Identify promising new concepts in scientific publications and lead pilot studies of related experimentsParticipate in cross-functional collaborations with multiple groups to advance broad company goals and objectives and assist in the design of genomics projectsContribute NGS expertise, leadership, and technical guidance to cross-disciplinary teams.Advance NGS technology utilization and understanding across the company Work closely with computational biologists to interpret NGS dataWhat You Will Bring
Ph.D. (preferred) or Masters in Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a closely-related field3+ years of full-time, hands-on NGS experience in an academic or industrial settingDeep understanding of NGS library preparation and the principles of sequencing technologiesPrevious work with a variety of NGS sample preparation workflows and analysisExperience in high-content screening, single-cell genomics, or functional genomicsSignificant experience in troubleshooting, method development, and optimization of molecular biology-based assaysStrong background in molecular biology and analytical techniques including, PCR/qPCR, ddPCR, molecular cloning, gene editing, enzymatic assays, and nucleic acid isolation and manipulationExperience operating liquid handling robots or other lab automation for high-throughput assays is desiredExperience in computational analysis of next-generation sequencing dataManagerial experience and/or project management experienceAbility to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity and deliver high-quality resultsWe are committed to hiring the best talent.
