We are seeking a Director, Cell Engineering to lead evaluation, adaptation and development of novel technologies for efficient non-viral genome engineering in human immune cells. This role will interact closely with colleagues and cross-functional teams across the entire ArsenalBio R&D organization to ensure flexible and scalable access to precisely engineered immune cells for research use, while ensuring transferability of product leads to clinical manufacturing.
What You Will DoLead and mentor a team dedicated to development and application of a state-of-the-art cell engineering technology platformEvaluate, adapt and develop reagents, methods and technologies for precise and efficient genome engineering in primary immune cellsCollaborate with automation-, process- and software engineers and to scale and optimize the operation of the cell engineering platformCollaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to apply the cell engineering platform to discover and develop effective therapeutic products from early-stage through pre-clinical research stagesCollaborate with executive and business development teams to develop publication, commercialization and partnering strategies leveraging the ArsenalBio cell engineering platform
What You Will BringPhD in cellular or molecular immunology, bioengineering or a similar field, with 12+ years of relevant experience in industry or academiaExperience with the application of CRISPR-based genome engineering to human immune cells and/or other primary cell typesExperience with isolation, expansion and phenotypic characterization of human immune cellsExperience with characterizing complex cell populations using high-parameter cytometry, next-generation sequencing and other advanced analytical methodsExperience with relevant molecular biology and protein engineering methodsWorking knowledge of laboratory automation, including liquid handlers and automated cell isolation instrumentsWorking knowledge of methods for high-throughput functional genomics and/or genetic screening in complex cell populationsEntrepreneurial behaviors demonstrated by agility, accountability, transparency, resourcefulness, and ability to get things doneDemonstrated ability to recruit, mentor and enable diverse technical teamsDemonstrated ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment, coordinate tasks across multiple projects to meet deadlinesStrong written and oral communication skills
