ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer. Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments. Our people are our greatest asset, they bring scientific talents in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, protein chemistry, computational biology, automation, genome engineering, software and other fields to make the future happen now.
This role will lead development of novel technologies for cell programming, manipulation and
screening, and drive dissemination and application of these technologies across all ArsenalBio
discovery and development programs.
What You Will Do:Lead and mentor a team of scientists and research associates dedicated to development and application of a state-of-the-art cell engineering technology platform Develop technologies for precise, efficient genome engineering in complex cell populations, including primary immune cells and disease models Develop genome engineering and synthetic biology approaches for robust, predictable programming of immune cell behavior and states Develop approaches for high-throughput/multiplexed functional and phenotypic screening of engineered cells in vitro and in vivo Collaborate with automation engineers, software engineers and operations specialists to scale and optimize the operation of the cell engineering platform Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to apply the cell engineering platform to discover, develop and validate effective therapeutic productsCollaborate with executive and business development teams to develop publication, commercialization and partnering strategies Communicate technical capabilities and advances in industry meetings, scientific presentations and publications Coordinate tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planningInterpret and effectively execute interdependent tasks in line with project timelines and goals
What You Will BringPhD in cell, molecular, immunological, or genomic basis of human diseases, with 15+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academiaExperience developing methods for genome engineering in primary immune cellsExperience developing methods for high-throughput functional genomics and/or genetic screening in complex cell populationsExperience developing synthetic circuits and/or genetic components for rational control of cellular behaviors and statesWorking knowledge of viral and non-viral vector delivery methodsWorking knowledge of high-throughput DNA sequencing and synthesisWorking knowledge of advanced molecular assays, including single-cell sequencingEntrepreneurial behaviors demonstrated by agility, accountability, transparency, resourcefulness, and ability to get things doneAbility to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity, and deliver high-quality resultsFlexible mind with ability to think outside the box, creative approach to problem solving, and comfort in working with ambiguous data in an open-ended, exploratory processDemonstrated ability to perform as a team player
