ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer. Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments. Our people are our greatest asset, they bring scientific talents in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, protein chemistry, computational biology, automation, genome engineering, software and other fields to make the future happen now.
Our approach requires novel receptors to empower cell therapies to sense their environment and respond as needed to resolve disease states. This role in ArsenalBio’s Binder Discovery group will lead efforts in the design and delivery of binding domains to be deployed on these novel synthetic receptors. In it, you will interface closely with colleagues across ArsenalBio’s Discovery, Development and Technology organizations, as well as external collaborators and thought leaders.
What You Will DoLead efforts to identify target antigen binders from immune and non-immune repertoires for a portfolio of cell therapy applicationsDevelop capabilities for in vitro display selection and screening of target antigen binders from large librariesDesign target antigen immunogens, immunization strategies and single-cell screening workflows with CROs for the identification of novel bindersLead efforts to characterize binder specificity, affinity and epitope diversity in support of downstream synthetic receptor screeningProvide expertise on binder discovery and their use in Cell Therapy applications across our broader scientific teamMaintain familiarity with the relevant current literature and its application to binder discovery, screening methodologies, synthetic biology and cell therapyCoordinate tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planningInterpret and effectively execute experiments in line with project timelines and goalsRecruit and mentor junior scientists and research associates with relevant expertise
What You Will BringPhD in molecular biology, protein engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academiaExperience with in vitro display library selections and high throughput screening methodologiesExperience with rodent immunization strategies and single cell screening methodologiesExperience with characterization of target antigen binders, including specificity, affinity, epitope and biophysical propertiesWorking knowledge of antibody and alternative scaffold binder formatsWorking knowledge of synthetic library design and generationWorking knowledge of NGS technologies and workflowsEntrepreneurial behaviors demonstrated by agility, accountability, transparency, resourcefulness, and ability to get things doneDemonstrated ability to perform as a team player
