Research Associate/Senior RA - Cell Isolation/Genome Engineering

ArsenalBio is seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to support the T cell isolation and genome engineering core as a part of our efforts to develop and commercialize curative immune cell therapies. This candidate will be responsible for optimizing and running cell isolations and designing and executing genome engineering workflows in primary human T cells using ArsenalBio’s proprietary non-viral engineering technology. The ideal candidate will have experience with mammalian cell culture and experience with CRISPR-Cas9 based cell engineering methods. The candidate will be expected to coordinate with multiple teams across ArsenalBio to determine project needs and work within Technical Operations to identify and implement potential process improvements to optimize the workflow.

What You Will Do

  • Perform T cell isolation and processing to fulfill company-wide requests
  • Design and execute genome engineering studies to generate gene edited primary cells 
  • Adapt T cell isolation processes to automation platforms to in order to increase efficiency and throughput
  • Coordinate and integrate multiple different workflows into the cell isolation and genome engineering core activities.
  • Perform characterization of both isolated and gene modified T cell populations
  • Assist in the development and optimization of the cell processing platform
  • Perform troubleshooting and testing of experimental workflows
  • Keep detailed logs of studies to contribute to the dissemination of results
  • Support and maintain reagent inventory, instrument maintenance, SOP writing, and related administrative tasks
  • What You Will Bring

  • Bachelors in Cell, Molecular, Immunological, or Genomic basis of human diseases required
  • 2+ years of research experience involving primary human T cell isolation/culture  and multi-dimensional flow cytometry required
  • Experience in clinical scale cell processing (such as Miltenyi MultiMACS and equivalent platforms) desired
  • Experience with targeted gene editing workflows including CRISPR-Cas9 and electroporation technology desired
  • Experience with automation platforms and databasing desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity, and deliver high-quality results
  • Technically minded with an aptitude for process optimization
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to multitask as needed in a start-up environment
