Senior Procurement Specialist (2217-N-685-SC)

ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer.  Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.

Arsenal Bio is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist who is analytical, driven, strategic, and creative.  Reporting into the Head of Procurement, the Senior Procurement Specialist will manage the procurement of R&D and Product Development supplies, services, equipment, and/or raw materials needed for manufacturing operations and facilities. The Senior Procurement Specialist will work with managers to support the department’s needs and maintain various reports to monitor the supply chain needs and will take initiative and use resources needed to ensure the supply chain is properly aligned with the expectations set forth by the Head of Procurement. This role will manage vendor relationships and work between vendors and the Supply Chain team to best position Arsenal Bio with fair and reasonable pricing as well as effective timing on delivery of products.  This role is expected to interact with other departments such as Finance, Manufacturing and Process Sciences and others as necessary.

What You Will Do:

  • Creates and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, direct and indirect in the procurement system and in accordance with documented procurement process.
  • Communicates with Management and Stakeholders’ purchase order status; manages orders through completion
  • Facilitate cost savings and quality improvement projects
  • Review proposals and negotiate pricing with suppliers 
  • Responsible for setting up, reviewing, executing and maintaining vendor contracts
  • Interacts with suppliers and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing good business relations between Arsenal Bio and suppliers 
  • Holds regular supplier meetings, reviews the open orders, updates procurement system and inform management about at-risk items 
  • Work with Accounts Payable and others as necessary to mitigate and clear pending invoicing issues in a timely manner 
  • Research purchasing trends, threats/risks to the supply chain, and develops sourcing and procurement strategies to mitigate risk to the supply chain and ensure business continuity
  • Work closely with Legal in executing and completion of Master Services/Supplies Agreement (MSA)
  • Participates in cross-functional projects for NPI, second sourcing, and process improvements.
  • Builds relationships within the department and with surrounding departments
  • Maintains a high level of quality and compliance with regards to all aspects of procurement 
  • Uses our company ERP system to analyze current inventory supply / demand situation and execute materials purchases as required to maintain proper inventory levels based on analysis.

  • What Will You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years procurement experience in the bio-pharmaceutical and or medical device industry
  • Technical proficiency with appropriate procurement systems and tools (SAP experience desirable)
  • Experience in Biotech or pharmaceutical or personalized health care experience or cell and gene therapy manufacturing is desired
  • Knowledge in ERP systems, desirable
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of core procurement areas of focus (spend management, category management and supplier management)
