Accelerating and scaling immune cell engineering

Effective application of innovative technology in biological research requires a collaborative and cross-disciplinary mindset.

We are a diverse group of engineers, scientists, and synthetic biologists dedicated to empowering our Discovery and Development organizations through design and deployment of state-of-the-art computational and biological tools.

Genome Engineer

ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer.  Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.  Our people are our greatest asset, they bring scientific talents in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, protein chemistry, computational biology, automation, genome engineering, software and other fields to make the future happen now.

This Role will lead the new technologies for modifying the genomes of human immune cells.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development, application, and optimization of new technologies for modifying the genomes of human immune cells
  •  Analysis of gene editing outcomes at the protein level and through DNA sequencing
  • Employ strategies for the genetic modification of cell lines and primary immune cells
  • Develop in vitro and in vivo screening assays by generating cell lines,  and integrating and optimizing screening protocolsWork with scientists to establish and test novel adoptive cell therapy approaches
  • Maintain familiarity with the relevant current literature and its application to cell therapies,  Ie CAR-T characterization and understanding
  • Coordinate tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning.Interpret and effectively execute experiments in line with project timelines and goals
  • Provide expert support for experiment design and assay development to the broader scientific team.
  • Mentor research associates within the group in areas of technical expertise
  • What You Will Bring:

  • PhD in cell, molecular, immunological, or genomic basis of human diseases, with 10+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academia
  • Experience with targeted gene editing workflows.
  •  Experience optimizing/developing single gene editing protocols and/or pooled screening protocols
  • Working knowledge of genome editing and gene modulation techniques, deep sequencing techniques strategies, protein design
  • Entrepreneurial behaviors demonstrated by agility, accountability, transparency, resourcefulness, and ability to get things done
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity, and deliver high-quality results
  • Flexible mind with ability to think outside the box, creative approach to problem solving, and comfort in working with ambiguous data in an open-ended, exploratory process
  •  Demonstrated ability to perform as a team player
  • We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status
