The Engineer, Facilities & Plant Engineering is a contributor with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of plant engineering functions including HVAC, utilities and building automation design practices within the biopharmaceutical cGMP environment. The incumbent will provide leadership and mentoring for technical staff as the department continues to grow. Responsible for plant utilities including HVAC, Refrigeration, temperature monitoring, Building Management, vendor coordination and calibration scheduling. Contributor in developing and executing engineering tests, FATs, SATs, commissioning test plans and train operations staff on new/revised operating procedures. Identifies equipment specific best practices and performs gap analysis between ArsenalBio and industry best practices.
This role is a key position for ArsenalBio and the successful candidate will significantly improve our bioprocesses used to produce engineered toxin bodies. This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for you to contribute to the development of new principles and concepts and to be challenged and lead change from an engineering perspective. The individual will report to the Senior Director, Facilities & Engineering.
This role provides technical support for the manufacturing facility and lab ops, including the design and specification of plant utilities and building management platforms. The Engineer will be part of a dynamic group of engineers who will be responsible for capital and expense project delivery, equipment and utility troubleshooting, root cause analysis and providing optimization strategies for process support equipment within multi-product, FDA regulated cGMP facilities.
What You Will Do:Assist F&E on design reviews between design firm and internal customers for clear scope and user requirements definitions.Coordinate outside vendors and internal technical staff in the delivery of services and needed utilities across our sitesGather daily routine rounds outcomes on calibrations, inspections, repairs and inventory, and report across functional teams.Determines methods and procedures for new assignments and may recommend solutions.Ensure training compliance for himself and junior staffAssist in the creation of F&E SOP’sSolid Project management skills, including scope creations and management, timelines, budgets, compliance and close out deliverables
What You Will Bring:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fieldMinimum 5+ years related experienceExperience working in facilities subject to GMP regulatory complianceDemonstrated understanding of systems needed to manage a GMP facility such as: HVAC, electrical, process systems, plumbing/piping, pneumatics, automation, general maintenanceExperience working with and supporting Computerized MaintenanceManagement Systems (CMMS).Experience working with process equipment (Drug Substance Manufacturing) and laboratory equipment, product use, and terminology, preferred.Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to action to resolve issue.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential to our collaborative work environment.Ability to work independently possessing strength in organizing work and time management.Demonstrated ability to provide written and oral summaries of work.Ability to handle competing priorities, projects, as well as urgent situationsAbility to read and understand electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings and equipment manuals.
