Senior Scientist, Flow Cytometry Assay Development

ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer.  Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.

We are seeking an outstanding scientist to drive next-generation flow cytometry methods within ArsenalBio. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of flow cytometry and its applications, as well as a proven track record of developing innovative flow cytometry protocols for solving complex biological problems. As a strong technical contributor, this role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance ArsenalBio research.

What You Will Do

  • Develop high- and low-complexity flow cytometry panels for discovery, pre-clinical and clinical studies
  • Innovate and establish novel flow cytometry methods to extract new types of information from research and clinical samples
  • Evaluate new flow cytometry technologies and platforms (e.g. full spectrum cytometry)
  • Lead pilot studies to translate promising new concepts in scientific publications into related experiments
  • Participate in cross-functional collaborations with multiple groups to advance broad company goals and objectives
  • Contribute flow cytometry expertise, leadership, and technical guidance to cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Advance flow cytometry technology utilization and understanding across the company
  • Work closely with computational biologists to create automated data analysis pipelines
  • What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or a closely-related field
  • 5+ years experience of full-time, hands-on flow cytometry experience in an academic or industry setting 
  • Deep understanding of flow cytometry assay development and the principles of flow cytometry technologies
  • Previous work with a variety of flow cytometry sample preparation workflows and analysis
  • Experience in high-content screening, traditional and full spectrum flow cytometry, and functional assays (e.g. intracellular cytokine staining, proliferation)
  • Significant experience in troubleshooting, method development, and optimization of flow cytometry-based assays
  • Strong background in cellular biology
  • Experience operating liquid handling robots or other lab automation for high-throughput assays is desired
  • Experience in computational analysis of flow cytometry data
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity and deliver high-quality results
