ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer. Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.
We are seeking an outstanding Scientist/Senior Scientist to lead immunology discovery efforts to develop next generation CAR T cellular therapies for cancer. They will have a background in immunology, cellular or cancer biology and have the creativity to present new ideas and solve challenging problems. The successful candidate will communicate and collaborate within and across disciplines, both internally and with outside partners, including pharmaceutical partners and leading academic labs. This role is ideal for an individual who is driven and passionate about cell therapy in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
What You Will Do:Design, develop, and execute a broad range of cell based functional and phenotypic in vitro assays to identify mechanisms of T cell dysfunction in solid tumorsConduct assay design and execute experiments to support selection of lead candidates for engineered T cell pipeline programsDesign and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to elucidate mechanism of action and biomarkers of response/resistance for therapeutic candidatesDrive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of ArsenalBioSummarize and synthesize data across experiments and present findings at all levels of the organizationProvide exceptional scientific leadership and mentorship to scientists and research associatesWork collaboratively and proactively with colleagues across the organization in matrixed team structure
What Will You Bring:PhD in immunology, cellular or cancer biology or a related field, or Masters with 5+ years experience, or Bachelors with 7+ years experience. Industry experience preferred but not required Strong background in immunology and/or tumor-immune cell interactions, with a focus on T cell biology and direct experience with primary immune cell culture; prior experience with genetic engineering of primary immune cells and knowledge of tumor microenvironment (TME) and cytokine signaling is preferredExpertise in developing and executing in vitro cellular assays including immune cell phenotyping, cytotoxicity, proliferation, 3D cultures and cytokine analysisOutstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds Ability to multi-task and work in collaboration with peers within a fast-paced team environment with a positive outlook and high degree of self-motivation and organization
