Scientist - In vivo Translational Immunology

ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer.  Our products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from a hospital based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.  Our people are our greatest asset, they bring scientific talents in molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, protein chemistry, computational biology, automation, genome engineering, software and other fields to make the future happen now.

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist I/II to support our translational science and in vivo pharmacology at ArsenalBio. Substantial expertise with tumor xenograft and syngeneic mouse models, oncology, immunology, as well as in vivo adoptive cell therapy with engineered T cells is highly desirable. The successful individual will design and perform studies for in vivo efficacy, candidate selection and ex vivo MOA pharmacodynamic and biomarker discovery.  The successful candidate will work closely with discovery researchers to enable target discovery and next generation adoptive cell therapies. In addition, the successful candidate will support in vivo assays necessary to support product development and regulatory filings for pivotal clinical studies. This role requires an individual with outstanding self-initiative, communication and leadership qualities.

What You Will Do

  • Support the pre-clinical in vivo translational immunology group effort that utilizes tumor xenograft models for discovery and IND-enabling studies for CAR-T adoptive cell therapy. Model development to support MOA and TME discovery science as well as pharmacology efforts to advance projects as required
  • Responsible for collection, analysis and interpretation of experimental data 
  • Design and perform rodent dosing studies, in vivo candidate selection, blood and tissue sampling, surgeries and isolation of tumor infiltrating CAR-T cells for MOA as required
  • Develop novel pre-clinical efficacy studies to discovery biology
  • Support product development and regulatory filings for pivotal clinical studies
  • Manage internal resource allocation and external collaborations
  • Responsible for working with team members to draft animal protocols and then coordinate studies with cross-functional teams
  • Participate and present data during internal research meetings and interface with cross-functional groups
  • Participate in the training of in vivo translational immunology personnel for proficiency in tumor model studies
  • Follow laboratory safety guidelines and practices
  • What You Will Bring

  • PhD in tumor immunology or related field with 1-2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong background in tumor biology, immunology and tumor models including human xenograft models and development of novel models to solve MOA
  • Extensive hands-on experience with all aspects of running tumor models
  • Experience with various tumor models to demonstrate mechanisms of action
  • Experience working with antibody therapeutics is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboratively in a cross functional environment
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting, organization, and planning skills, and the ability to work under timeline in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
