We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead cell line development at ArsenalBio. Reporting to the Vice President of Preclinical Pharmacology, this role requires substantial expertise in cell line engineering and development. Deep knowledge and extensive experiences in oncology target biology and drug discovery is also highly desirable. The successful individual will not only oversee and lead the cell line development group but work closely with project teams throughout Discovery and Preclinical Development to design and generate engineered cell lines in support of preclinical programs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead a group of scientists that provides centralized support for cell line generationLead the development, application and optimization of new technologies for modifying the genomes of mammalian cellsEmploy strategies for the genetic modification of cell linesLead activities in generating and maintaining master and working cell bank inventories across a portfolio of engineered cell linesLead analysis and QC processes on cell lines at the DNA and protein levelProvide expert support for cell line engineering experiment design and assay development to the broader scientific team.Coordinate tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning. Interpret and effectively execute experiments in line with project timelines and goalsMaintain familiarity with current literature related to the scope of ArsenalBio’s research focusMentor scientists within the group in areas of technical expertise
WHO YOU ARE
PhD in Cell or Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academiaExpertise with CRISPR gene editing and lentiviral transduction workflows, cell engineering and cell cultureExperience developing/optimizing gene editing protocolsExperience analyzing mammalian cells by flow cytometry for target surface expressionExperience with Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) Entrepreneurial behaviors demonstrated by agility, accountability, transparency, resourcefulness, and ability to get things done Ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity, and deliver high-quality results Flexible mindset with ability to think outside the box, creative approach to problem solving, and comfort in working with ambiguous data in an open-ended, exploratory processDemonstrated ability to perform as a team player, with strong organizational skills, record keeping and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)

The estimated base salary offer for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $169,000- $207,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary from this range. Base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, experience, education, and location. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
