ArsenalBio is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Program Management and Alliances team as a Manager/Senior Manager of Business Development. We are committed to furthering the diversity of our talented community of employees.
This individual will work closely with the leadership team and functional leaders to identify, track, and prioritize opportunities of highest interest/value, coordinate with cross-functional teams to prepare proposals and facilitate due diligence, and support negotiations / transactions as appropriate with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Legal Officer. This candidate will also be responsible for creating processes needed to track new technology development, transactions, and financings in the cell and gene therapy space.
The Senior Manager, Business Development is a critical role with a high degree of visibility and impact within the organization, and as a representative of the company to potential partners. This person needs to embody ArsenalBio’s values of One Team, appropriate Transparency, Humility, and Sustainability. Strategic thinking, diligence in landscape analysis, strong project management, and excellent communication and negotiation skills are critical skill sets.
What You Will Do:Leverage competitive intelligence channels to stay abreast of new developments and technologies in cell therapyWork cross-functionally with the leadership team and functional leaders to identify and track strategic partnering opportunities which align with ArsenalBio’s technology platform and business objectivesWork with internal Discovery, Technology, Medical Sciences, Technical Operations and Finance teams to facilitate partnering discussions and due diligenceParticipate in structuring and negotiation of term sheets, including detailed comparator deal analysis and running valuation scenarios to align on proposed termsProvide project management support throughout the deal lifecycle from opportunity identification to transaction closePrepare slide decks appropriate for presentation to the leadership team in partnership with key stakeholdersLead and participate in strategic initiatives and special projects to advance our business processesCommunicate with external parties in a manner that reflects positively on the company, its strategy and leadership.
What You Will Bring:Advanced degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience in the life science industry. Experience in project and alliance management, management consulting, investment bank or venture capital a plusUnderstanding of the drug development process; specifically, understanding of cell and gene therapy and/or immuno-oncologyStrong knowledge base in key aspects of business development and licensing from search and evaluation, competitive intelligence, market assessment, and creative deal structureAbility to conduct landscape analysis on technologies and disease areas, identifying key advances and gaps, and prioritizing opportunities based on ArsenalBio’s strategic objectivesResults-oriented with analytical skills and attention to detail required to understand and challenge inputs into evaluations and build business casesExcellent project management skills; attention to detail, strong organizational and follow-up skillsDemonstrated success in managing cross-functional, strategic projectsExcellent presentation and communication skills, including the ability to quickly build clear, persuasive slide decksEntrepreneurial self-starter who can juggle multiple priorities and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
